Thanos uses a very similar line of reasoning as the working class white nationalists who think all of the well-paying jobs are gone because there are too many black & brown people, women, and immigrants in the work force.

Thanos has a philosophy strikingly similar to the Nazi concept of lebensraum (living space), where they thought the Aryans would thrive if they got rid of part of the population.

Quit saying Thanks was right. The only thing separating him from people like that is that his idea of universal genocide is dependent on a roll of the dice instead of targeting a specific group of people.
