i cant wait until future dolphin archaeologists draw shrink wrapped human paleoart
[10 million A.D. dolphin voice] behold, a man!
[other dolphin voice] i cant believe we’re still pretending humans were hairless. give humans hair you cowards!!!
would it not likely go the other direction? since dolphins are supremely smooth round creatures maybe they project that and we rnd up with a smooth blubber torpedo human
the crux of this post is the shrink-wrapping aspect and the notion that paleontologists of another species would do that too, not specifically a dolphins interpretation of what a human might be, but i thought at least they would interpret their shrinkwrapped humans as smooth and bald until evidence suggests that humans had hair and this would be a cause of tumultuous academic debate. i also think the dolphins would eventually come up with a theory identical to the fringe “aquatic ape theory” of today by complete coincidence
