Starbucks Barista: you ok?

Me: I’m fine

My brain: I wonder if people realize that the book of Leviticus was not written by a person, but actually dates to the time when the Greeks were dominating the Mediterranean and spreading their culture to the places they traded with, which included public baths and same-sex relationships, which the Levites of modern-day Israel couldn’t allow because they believed that they were the descendants of Levi, descendant of Jacob, whom God himself referred to as “Israel” and were therefore the chosen people that HAD to maintain their ancient traditions, so they introduced the Code of the Levites (aka: the Book of Leviticus) which included a contradiction to every single Greek custom to scare the descendants of Jacob from marrying any Greeks or attending public baths — meaning that people of the United States of America — the first free and modern democracy — have political platforms and personal opinions about homosexuality that they think is founded on the word of God, but in reality stems from a set of laws that were designed to prevent Jewish men from taking baths with Greek men

aight so european leaders got together to make decisions about the refugee situation and the bottom line is 1) refugees are gonna be detained outside of europe, 2) the detainment centers are actually named “kontrollierte zentren” in german which is not ominous or in incredibly bad taste at all, 3) private rescuers are gonna be charged for rescuing drowning refugees, 4) we pay countrues such as turkey or libya a lot of money to keep refugees out of europe, 5) outer european borders will be strengthened and frontex (border control) will receive more funding

so in short uhhh europe decided on killing and locking up more refugees; fun!

Please don’t ignore this.

The European Union is killing refugees through neglect, and planning to put them in prison camps in Turkey, Libya, Morocco etc. If you wanna help, you can donate for example to: Mission Lifeline sea rescue, HelpRefugees, RefugeeSupport, the UN Refugee Agency, Solidarity Now in Greece, Open Migration in Italy, BetterPlace in Germany, Care4Calais in France and Belgium, RefugeeAction in the UK.

SupportRefugees lists ways to become active as a volunteer across Europe.

Support FRONTEXIT to let European leaders know we do not condone their border politics!

Keep informed and keep vigilant, for example on Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch. Please spread this and add any good links you have. Thank you!

The best example of the gulf between Nat and Steve that neither of them see is that Steve would absolutely not read Nat’s file that she shared with the world post-SHIELD, to prove that his friendship with her, and Nat would absolutely assume that Steve had read her file, to prove his friendship with her.

And both of them would assume that the other understood exactly the right choice and acted accordingly, and never even think to discuss it.

Because friendship.

I just really love the idea a lot that Steve and Nat have such wildly differing ideas of how to show the other person they trust them and that these differences are based entirely in the way their relationship turns in CATWS.

there’s something so fantastic to me in the idea that Steve, who spends half the movie distrusting Nat because she’s not telling him everything, deciding that he’s fine not knowing everything because she’s earned his trust, and that Nat, who has spent the whole movie showing him the best of herself, decides that she can trust that he can see the worst of her and like her anyway.

I love that as a character dynamic.

the road to el dorado when in the context of a d&d game is the most astounding and hellish streak of 1′s and 20′s

“The people think that you’re gods, what do you do?”

“…we go along with it.”

“Roll performance.”

“…I got a one.”

“Your foot gets caught in the stirrup while you try to dismount from the horse. You look ridiculous.”

“Well I rolled a twenty.”

“…somehow, a volcano stops erupting on your cue. Everyone falls to their knees in awe.”

“I roll to come up with an escape plan”

“Alright roll”

“…I got a one”

“I try to convince the horse to break us out”

“Roll…animal handling?”

“I got a twenty”

Y’know now that I’ve seen this post I don’t think I’ve ever seen the movie like I thought I had

Dolly Parton quotes, part 3 of 3

okay guys let me talk to you about dolly parton

dolly parton is the best

i love dolly parton and please acknowledge that she’s a queen

Dolly Parton has come up with some of my fav quotes. Two I remember very well are:

“No money doesn’t make you happy but at least you can wear nice clothes while you’re miserable.”

“No it doesn’t bother me when people call me a dumb blonde because I know I’m not dumb and I know I’m not blonde.”

dolly parton once entered a dolly parton look-alike contest and lost.
