so the fact remains that jeff goldblum played the grandmaster with absolute peak perfection and absolutely no other mcu performance can top that, which is just a fact, but it means that either jeff goldblum has this fantastically nuanced understanding of this character who is incredibly ancient and powerful but still ultimately a silly hedonist OR he just rolled up to thor ragnarok like ‘i’m jeff goldblum and i’m gonna be playing jeff goldblum’ and fuckin nailed it

the fact that they actually wrote the role for him makes it even better because that means the execs were like “who should play one of the most powerful characters we’ve ever had, the ruler of an entire planet, who is more ancient and knowledgable than a literal god, and decides the lives and deaths of countless individuals” and the conclusion they came to was “jeff goldblum in a sparkly gold bathrobe”

Republicans: Felons should NEVER regain the right to vote. Got a felony for pot possession when you were 21? Fuck off. If you can’t follow the law, you don’t get to vote on the law. 

Also Republicans: I mean, even if Kavanaugh IS an attempted rapist who drank underage in high school, whatever. It’s not disqualifying even if its true. I still think he should serve a LIFETIME POSITION ON THE SUPREME COURT. 

Not only that, but he perjured himself 3 separate times in front of the Senate, first during his confirmation when Bush nominated him to the DC court, again during his SCOTUS hearing, and then again this past week.

Perjury is, wait for it, a felony.

Yeah in a lot of places in the USA any felony charge loses you the right to vote. It’s called felony disenfranchisement

@genquerdeer yeah and that is basically what happens. Not only that but we have a much higher conviction rate for black people than white people which means most of the people losing their right to vote are black. And black people generally tend to vote more Democratic than Republican.

And that’s not even touching issues of gerrymandering, voter ID laws, and all the other ways people of color as a whole are being disenfranchised as voters or prevented from voting.

And voting day isn’t a holiday so many people are forced to work for most of that day.

And there are accessibility issues even with early voting being an option.

There are a LOT of problems with the way the US works. And the best (*cough* worst *cough*) part is many Americans either don’t know about these things or are taught to think they are justified and logical (hence the OP).
