I try to remember that politicians are real people who – most of them – want to actually do something good for the country, it’s just that their misguided or limited perspective leads to incompetent or harmful ideas. They’re not actually cartoon supervillains who fought to get in power so that they could cackle in their offices and plot how best to destroy the country. They’re capable of growth and changing their mind and sometimes they do listen to criticism. Our disagreements sometimes stem from very different social and environmental upbringings and I’m getting angry at people who just don’t have the experience to see from my point of view. The world is very complex and I can’t simply lump everyone into neat “good” and “bad” boxes but accept that there’s a gradient where everyone is capable of doing good things.

…except Peter Dutton. That guy is just straight up fucking evil and is actually a fucking villain. You’ll be hard pressed to make me believe he has a single shred of decency in the most obscure bones in his body. He’s the product of the dying wishes of a dark wizard who spilt his blood on a potato farm and cursed Australia to suffer the incessant rule of his bastard starchy spawn. Fuck him and his explicitly racist desire to torture and destroy refugees. Fuck the government for giving him the power to do it. Fuck him for the rest of his goddamn days for all the shame he’s brought to our nation with his inhumane policy and aggressive cruelty.

Just fuck Peter Dutton.
