netflix has problems with its content the way all those big Hollywood distributors do, but they’re doing what conventional distributors have never done by providing worldwide access to new films, catering to the most diverse audience, and opening doors for ppl who can’t usually watch new films bc they’re impeded by disability and/or finance

pretentious film critics (who make their living sucking up to conventional distribution companies) are quick to dismiss, but netflix still tried playing their game last year submitting okja and mudbound at festivals to expectedly close-minded reception

releasing cloverfield paradox straight to the people really is a game changer and also big fuck you to critics who are mad they have to watch it at the same time as everyone else, which is why they’re blasting a fairly decent, racially diverse, wild, and unserious sci-fi blockbuster with ‘rotten’ scores. dont be fooled
