Ok so I was having a pretty bum day recently and I was venting about it a bit to a close friend of mine who’s a guy. He listens and does all the “that sucks :( I’m sorry” stuff that you’re supposed to do when someone’s having a bad day but then at the ends he goes “that’s really shitty I’m sorry :( I’d give you a hug, but we’re not dating and I don’t wanna make things weird” and I’m like ??? What??? You can’t hug me because we’re not dating? (1/?)
And I know it’s not to avoid making anyone jealous because we’re both single and he goes “yeah you know I’d hug you but you know we’re not dating so I can’t” and I’m like wtf you don’t need to be in a relationship with someone to hug them who told you that? he says that he hasn’t hugged anyone since he was about 11 and I jokingly ask like not even your mom? Because I mean she’s your mom you see her every day and he says
((Oops I hit enter too fast)) and he says no not even his mom and he asks when the last time Ive hugged someone and Im short circuiting because the last time I hugged someone was like a couple hours ago not not since I was 11 like some MANIACS?? And now I’m kinda just sitting here like ?? Do some people/some guys really think youre not supposed to hug people unless youre dating them? Really? Why? Hugging is the best thing ever?
